Here’s some feedback from a few previous and repeat clients. My grateful thanks for your kind words and support ……

Hey Bones,

Thank you so much for your artistry and craftsmanship in the making of Uncle Jack!  He’s a beauty.  I have played a couple of tunes on it this afternoon—very satisfying.  Not only is the Resobarinator a beautiful instrument, it sounds great.  I very much appreciate doing business with you.  Thank you again and take care.

Michael Shay – Oregon USA

P.S. I suspect we will be doing business again one day.  Until then…

“A beautiful sounding and well crafted Kiwi made instrument! (Waterview Mountain Dulcimer) Thanks so much for your wonderful talent. Was a great gift! A++++++

My amazing New Crown Ukulele! Built by the outstanding Luthier at Barebones Folk Instruments. Can’t stop playing it, it’s amazing and quite beautiful to play! Thanks Bones!!!!!! If you’re in the market for an acoustic instrument, see Bones, his work is exquisite!

Have just taken delivery of a brand new Crown Royale Tenor Guitar specially made for me by Bones. This master craftsman assisted with selecting appropriate wood(s) and constructed a stunning instrument that I am over the moon with. I highly recommend this outstanding Luthier, creating magic. You will not be disappointed. Grateful thanks, Bones. Jack.

It is BEAUTIFUL!! Thank you so very, very much, you have been an absolute pleasure to deal with throughout the whole trade, I am looking forward to learning to play this lovely instrument. Very, very happy ………. CHEERS!!

As a left-handed instrument player, access to affordable quality instruments (other than guitars) was once an issue for me – but no longer. If customer satisfaction is measured by repeat business, then the only thing I need to add is that since 2005, I have become the owner of THREE Barebones instruments, and I wouldn’t willingly part with any of them.

Recently visited Graham [Bones] with a collection of old ukes that needed sorting. Thanks Graham for generously giving your time and expertise to get things fixed. I was very impressed by the quality and sound of your hand made instruments. Thanks again Graham. Regards

Chris – Tauranga.

What a talented man. Beautiful craftsmanship and very happy with my new tenor banjo uke. Need to get practicing to give it justice it deserves. Thank you so much…..

Sigh*…. I’m in love, lol. Seriously though – absolutely gorgeous workmanship, fantastic sound/tone, and concept (re: ‘Flat out’ cajon for feedback reviewers)… Friendly communications/updates and express shipping. Couldn’t be happier overall. Thank you.

Janelle Wipiri – Auckland

G’day Bones, That is one really nice banjo. Feels good in the hand, plays really nice and sounds brilliant. Thank you for the great trade, it’s been a pleasure. Cheers,

Steve Ryan, Ashburton.

I highly recommend ‘Bones’. I had completely snapped the head off my Ibanez acoustic/electric guitar and thought it would never be right again, but Bones fixed it up beautifully and I’m really loving the sound and the playability of my new ‘old’ guitar. Thanks Bones x

Lynn Walters, Auckland.

Came to Bones with a case full of banjo shaped bits, he helped me decide how far to go with it to make it playable again without costing an arm and a leg. Great service, great price, thanks Bones for helping get my banjo humming again, haven’t had a lot of time to play it but seems to be settling in nicely. Give Bones a call you won’t be disappointed.

Carl Camendinz, Auckland.

When you are in trouble, you are in deep trouble: Bones sorted my banjo out in 24-hours, fixed, set up, tuned, ready to play. “Sorted”. Great luthier to deal with, appreciate the efficiency and hospitality. Grateful thanks.

Banjo Jack, Auckland.

Hi Bones, I have a range of instruments – a bluegrass and a tenor banjo, a mandolin, a uke and the bouzouki I bought from you. The instrument that seems to jump of my wall the most and hold on to me until I’ve played him for a while is your bouzouki. That is one great instrument! I’m so glad I’ve got it. Greetings from Germany,

John Duncan.

Really good Cajon for excellent price. Quality…. A+. Recommend to others.

Martin Fey, Auckland.

Bones: My new eight string Uke arrived (and I capitalize Uke because this ain’t no uke – it is indeed jumbo as described) and I’m so pleased with it. It’s a beautiful instrument and it seems very well made. I look forward to sharing my thoughts on sound as I get to play with it… Your packaging was great too! 🙂

I found the entire process of transacting with you an absolute pleasure. Your diligence, communication and customer service were exemplary. Thank you very much!

Bones – This Cajon is so much fun. Quite a cool sound too for such a small light box. My jamming room is now complete and ready to make some dope beats. Respect!

Hi. Just wanted to tell you how much I’m enjoying this crown royal Guitalele. I’ve got all kinds of crazy expensive guitars — Santa Cruz, Taylor, Gibson — but this little nylon string guy is so much fun to play. I keep it tuned to GCFA#DG –it takes a capo on 2 beautifully. You got it right by keeping the neck width narrow like a regular acoustic….

Thanks again,

Steve Clapper, Missouri. USA

Magic happens there.

“I am the fortunate Taranaki owner of this beautiful Tenor Ukulele…. Words cannot describe how happy I am with Bones workmanship. It is a beautiful instrument with an amazing sound. I look forward to many hours of pleasure. I have waited 72 years to own and play a “proper” left handed Ukulele. Thank you Bones for fulfilling my long held dream”.
